Swiss Benevolent Association of Greater Cincinnati - Scholarship
Swiss Benevolent Association of Greater Cincinnati - Scholarship
The Swiss Benevolent Association of Greater Cincinnati Ohio (SBA) will have funds available for undergraduate college/university students of Swiss descent. The awards are for tuition only and will be paid quarterly. The first quarter award will be handed out personally at the Swiss 1st August celebration. Therefore, the applicant must be present or he/she will be disqualified.
These guidelines will help the SBA to stay accountable through their records, to publicly honor and recognize these young Swiss descendants and to develop a pattern of active involvement with the Association which will be hopefully carried on into their future lives.
Guidelines:
The applicant must be either a Swiss National with permanent US residency permit (visa/green card) or of Swiss descent with documents of proof. Family trees are not accepted since they usually don’t indicate the places of origin (Heimatort) or citizenship.
The applicant must reside permanently in the following counties of the states of Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana:
Ohio: Hamilton, Butler, Clermont, Warren, Montgomery, Greene
Kentucky: Boone, Kenton, Gallatin, Campbell, Grant and Pendelton
Indiana: Dearborn, Franklin, Switzerland, Ripley, Decantur
Swiss students studying in the US based on a tourist or student visa are not eligible.
The applicant must intend to attend college on a full-time basis for the entire school year. Registration and schedules as proof are accepted but has to be followed up by a copy of the quarterly report cards.
The applicant will make his/her request for scholarship awards in form of a letter which contains the following:
Name of the attending school
Educational plans (major/field of study)
Graduation date expected
Annual tuition costs (tuition only)
All scholarship applications will be examined, analyzed and ranked. Incomplete documentation and non-presence at the Swiss 1st August celebration will result in disqualification. The decisions made are final.
Application deadline:
Completed application with the mentioned documentation must be received no later than April 30th of the current year. Late entries will be disqualified. Winners will be notified by May 31st of the current year.
